Hi! Welcome to Morning Star Christian Fellowship! We appreciate you
taking the time to find out a little bit about our church.
Morning Star began in 2006 in Corona, California, with about
50 people. These people came together with a common belief and a common
desire. The belief? That Jesus Christ is the Son of God and a Savior to all
who want to know him. The desire? To create a Christian community based on
the biblical pattern laid out in the Book of Acts.
We often say at Morning Star that we are a Purpose-Driven
church. That means that we are committed to the five purposes that were
at the heart of the New Testament church:
·
Worship.
At Morning Star we worship God each Sunday through
contemporary music and biblical teaching.
·
Fellowship.
We believe that fellowship is more than gathering for coffee
and cookies. In the early church, people were involved in each other’s
lives. They helped and supported and cared for one another. That’s
fellowship! And that’s what we live out at Morning
Star.
·
Discipleship.
The New Testament church was a teaching church. At Morning
Star, we offer Bible Study, small group study, and Sunday School to help
all of our people become more knowledgeable about the Bible and what it
means to be a follower of Jesus.
·
Mission.
To us, “mission” simply means “service.” At Morning Star, we are
engaged in mission through programs like Knit for Kids which provides
hand-made sweaters for needy children, food baskets for the poor,
Operation Christmas Child which provides Christmas gifts for children
who might not have a Christmas otherwise, and other such programs.
·
Evangelism.
We believe it is important to share the most valuable thing we have – the
good news about Jesus Christ! We want everyone to know the joy, the peace,
the power, and the love of Jesus in their lives, just as we do.
We also say that we
are a Passion-Driven church. By that we mean that we are passionate
in our love for God and for other people. Because God loves people enough to
send his Son to die for them, we love them too.
If you think you’d
like to be a part of what God is doing at Morning Star, give us a
call or, better yet, come visit us on Sunday morning. You never know – you
may find it to be one of the best things you’ve ever done. God bless you!
