"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And
surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
— Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)

| We all like talking about our favorite TV
shows, books, movies, or electronic gadgets because these things bring us
joy and we want our friends to share in that. Healthy churches produce
intense joy and a desire to share that joy with friends. Try to remember a
time you heard a joke that was so funny you couldn't wait to share it with
friends. Healthy Christian churches produce that same "irresistible urge to
share." Sharing the Gospel need not be intimidating — indeed it is the
natural result of having something worth sharing. At Morning Star we expect
that each of us will experience such joy and wisdom in Christ that we will
really want to share it with our friends, neighbors, and acquaintances. The
elders will train members to share their faith with others in simple,
non-threatening ways, but it really isn't scary. Not when you have something
really worth sharing with someone you truly care about. |
